Special Olympics is a international charitable organization dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities through sport. Here in Brockville and area, it has grown from very modest roots to a vibrant group of athletes, coaches and volunteers. Registration Night for all 2018 and 2019 sport sign ups, September 6, 2018

The Special Olympics Brockville and Area Community Council held their 2018/2019 registration on September 6 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at Wall Street United Church. It was a busy night. Our new golf shirts were ready for pick up and this added to the excitement that night. It would seem that both the athletes and their coaches are excited about getting the winter sports underway.

6 Brockville athletes represent Ontario at the National Games in Antigonish, N.S. Aug 1-5, 2018

This year, Antigonish, Nova Scotia, hosted the Special Olympics 2018 Canadian National Summer Games. SOO Brockville and Area sent to the Nationals, 3 athletes in Track and Field and 3 in Basketball. Softball ends their season with a party! July 28, 2018

It was a great day. Rain a little at start of BBQ but that didn’t stop us. We were all just happy to be together for some good food, good company, and even a toss of the football.
